Baltimore has a lot of different things for visitors to see and do, and one of the most popular is the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum. The museum boasts the best and most comprehensive collection of historic railroad artifacts in the world. The pieces in the museum date from the very beginning of rail history in America.

The museum contains everything from entire buildings used in the industry to locomotives and many other smaller artifacts.

The locomotive and rolling stock collection has some interesting examples from throughout the history of the railroad, including quite a few steam locomotives from the 19th century. You will be able to see some of the rarest and best to have ever been a part of the American railroad.

The museum also houses an impressive collection of small objects that were part of the railroad industry's past, including some personal items. You will be able to see pocket watches, lanterns, china, fine art, signals, tools, and a host of other things. Families can also go on train rides at the museum from April through December on Wednesday through Sunday, as well as weekends in January. The ride is included in the price of admission.

The museum is closed on Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
