Baltimore has a lot of different things for visitors to see and do, and one of the most popular is the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum. The museum boasts the best and most comprehensive collection of historic railroad artifacts in the world. The pieces in the museum date from the very beginning of rail history in America.

The museum contains everything from entire buildings used in the industry to locomotives and many other smaller artifacts.

The locomotive and rolling stock collection has some interesting examples from throughout the history of the railroad, including quite a few steam locomotives from the 19th century. You will be able to see some of the rarest and best to have ever been a part of the American railroad.

The museum also houses an impressive collection of small objects that were part of the railroad industry's past, including some personal items. You will be able to see pocket watches, lanterns, china, fine art, signals, tools, and a host of other things. You can even see historical artifacts, such as the tools used for the laying of the first stone at the building all the way back in 1828.

If trains fascinate you or any member of your family, or even if you have only a passing interest in the history of locomotives in the United States, you should visit this museum. It has something for just about everyone interested in history.

Throughout the year, you will also be able to attend a number of interpretive programs. You should check the museum's website at borail.org to see if there are any special programs going on during your visit. Families can also go on train rides at the museum from April through December on Wednesday through Sunday, as well as weekends in January. The ride is included in the price of admission.

You can also visit the museum store and find something to commemorate your trip to the museum. Both adults and children will be able to find something to love. You can find books, clothing, mugs, and much more.

Admission for adults to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors over 60, $8 for children ages 2 – 12, and children under 2 are free. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 10AM to 4PM and from 11AM to 4PM on Sunday. The museum is closed on Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
